Balduvian Warlord

Balduvian Warlord is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but competitive Constructed formats have never given it a second look — four mana for a situational combat trick doesn't clear the bar where efficient threats are everywhere. Commander is its natural home, where four mana is routine, combat is chaotic, and the ability to redirect a block mid-combat generates real political and tactical leverage. In Oathbreaker the smaller table and faster pace make it harder to justify the slot, but aggressive signature-spell builds that close out through combat can find uses for it. Anywhere outside Commander, Balduvian Warlord is a bulk rare you pass without thinking.
