Assemble the Players card art
Assemble the Players gives you a repeatable, once-per-turn tutor stapled to an enchantment — every upkeep, you can put a power-2-or-less creature on top of your library for free. The catch is velocity: you're not drawing it immediately, just stacking the top, so the payoff scales hard with commanders like Delney, Streetwise Lookout who double every triggered ability that fires off the back of that creature entering.

Best Commanders

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Delney, Streetwise Lookout

Delney, Streetwise Lookout

50.6% of decks · synergy 0.48

Delney, Streetwise Lookout doubles triggers from power-2-or-less creatures, which means every small creature Assemble the Players sets up generates twice the value the moment it hits the battlefield — the enchantment essentially doubles its own output through Delney's lens.

02
Duskana, the Rage Mother

Duskana, the Rage Mother

41.8% of decks · synergy 0.41

Duskana, the Rage Mother cares deeply about 2/2 base-stat creatures, and Assemble the Players filters your draws to guarantee you hit one every turn — it's a consistency engine for an archetype that punishes you for missing your payoffs.

03
Arabella, Abandoned Doll

Arabella, Abandoned Doll

20.6% of decks · synergy 0.19

Arabella, Abandoned Doll runs a dense package of small creatures that each need to connect to matter, and Assemble the Players ensures the top of the deck is always one of them rather than a land or a spell that doesn't advance the gameplan.

04
Alesha, Who Smiles at Death

Alesha, Who Smiles at Death

19.0% of decks · synergy 0.19

Alesha, Who Smiles at Death recurs creatures with power 2 or less from the graveyard, and Assemble the Players lines up the hand side of that engine — together they create a loop where you're always finding, casting, and rebuying the same threat pieces.

05
Arcades, the Strategist

Arcades, the Strategist

13.4% of decks · synergy 0.12

Arcades, the Strategist leans on Walls and Defenders, the majority of which have 0 power, so Assemble the Players tutors to the top of the library every upkeep with virtually no restrictions in that deck.

Assemble the Players is a Commander card — the slow, accumulating value of a once-per-upkeep tutor doesn't translate to faster formats where games end before the engine pays off. In Modern and Pioneer, a two-mana enchantment that doesn't affect the board and delays the tutored card by a full turn cycle is simply too slow to matter. Standard legality is technically present, but the same speed argument applies. Commander is where the math works: you get four upkeeps per table rotation, the enchantment snowballs across a long game, and the restriction to power 2 or less fits naturally into commanders built around that creature band.

Price Context

Current price

$0.53 bulk tier

At $0.53, Assemble the Players sits firmly in bulk territory — you're picking it up for next to nothing relative to what it does in the right shell. Bulk enchantments with narrow but genuine homes tend to stay flat unless a breakout commander spikes demand, so don't expect movement, but there's also no reason to hesitate at this price point.
