Ashling's Prerogative hands every creature you control a permanent keyword — haste or flying — for two mana, with zero ongoing cost after it resolves. If your deck is built around odd- or even-mana creatures, this is a one-card engine that replaces a stack of individual enablers.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Ashling's Prerogative is a Commander card through and through — the effect scales with board size, and Commander's longer games give you time to flood the table with creatures that all share the chosen keyword. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but irrelevant; those formats end too fast for a passive anthem to matter, and neither format runs the creature density needed to justify a slot. Oathbreaker is the closest analog to Commander in terms of use case, and any planeswalker-led token strategy can squeeze real value out of it there. Stick to Commander if you're picking a home for Ashling's Prerogative.

Price Context
Current price
$0.72 bulk tier
At $0.72, Ashling's Prerogative sits firmly in bulk territory, which makes it an easy include for any budget build that can use it. The price is stable — it's not a card chasing speculative demand, and its narrow-but-real use case keeps it from dropping further.
