Arena Trickster enters as a 2/2 and grows by +1/+1 each time you cast a spell from anywhere other than your hand — instants and sorceries from the graveyard, cards you've foretold, whatever you've exiled and given permission to cast. The cost is a four-mana 2/2 with no immediate board impact, which means it lives or dies entirely on how reliably your deck feeds it.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Arena Trickster is a bulk rare in every format it's legal in, and that's the honest summary. In Commander, it finds a narrow home in spellslinger decks that generate cast triggers from exile — think Prosper, Tome-Bound or Etali, Primal Conqueror shells where cards constantly fire off from outside the hand — but even there it's competing with payoffs that win the game rather than just get big. In Pauper it's not legal at rare, and in Pioneer or Modern the four-mana slot demands immediate board presence Arena Trickster never delivers. Play it only if your Commander deck is specifically built around the exile-cast mechanic and needs another threat that scales with the engine.

Price Context
Current price
$0.03 bulk tier
At $0.03, Arena Trickster is deep bulk — the kind of card you pull from a box and toss in a pile. There's no realistic path to price movement here; it occupies too narrow a niche to spike and sees too little competitive play to hold even modest value.
