Arctic Treeline card art
Arctic Treeline enters tapped and produces Snow-covered Forest or Plains mana — the entire payoff is the Snow subtype, which makes it a near-auto-include anywhere Isu the Abominable is on the command zone. If your deck doesn't care about Snow permanents, this is just a worse Blossoming Sands with no lifegain.

Commanders with the highest synergy

01
Isu the Abominable

Isu the Abominable

91.4% of decks · synergy 0.89

Isu the Abominable triggers off Snow permanents entering the battlefield, and Arctic Treeline counts twice toward that trigger count while fixing your mana — it's one of the highest-synergy lands in the 91% of Isu decks that run it.

02
Karametra, God of Harvests

Karametra, God of Harvests

36.9% of decks · synergy 0.30

Karametra, God of Harvests fetches basic Forests and Plains on creature casts, and Arctic Treeline's Snow typing means those fetched basics can fuel Snow payoffs elsewhere in the 99 — it slots in as low-cost fixing that doesn't fight the engine.

Format Analysis

Arctic Treeline is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, but the only format where it's doing real work is Commander — specifically Snow-matters builds. In Pauper it's theoretically available but Snow synergies are narrow enough that you'd almost always prefer a basic. In Modern and Pioneer the competition from untapped dual lands is brutal, and tapped Snow lands only make the cut in dedicated Snow-tribal shells. Commander is the natural home because the singleton rule and slower pace make the enter-tapped tax affordable, and Arctic Treeline's Snow subtype is the whole point.

Price Context

Current price

$0.34 bulk tier

At $0.34, Arctic Treeline is deep bulk — cheap enough that there's no reason to hesitate if you're building Snow. It's a staple in a narrow archetype, so don't expect the price to move meaningfully in either direction.
