Ambuscade Shaman gives every creature you play after it +2/+2 until end of turn — a continuous pump that rewards token-flooding and go-wide strategies without asking anything extra of you. Four mana for a 3/3 is the cost, and it's fair.

Ambuscade Shaman is a Commander card through and through — the effect compounds across a board full of tokens and tribal fodder in a way that a 60-card format simply can't exploit consistently enough to justify a four-mana 3/3. In Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer it's outclassed by cheaper, more resilient payoffs before you even get to untap. Commander is where the math works: drop it before a Krenko activation or an Onslaught trigger and every new body enters swinging for more, turning incremental go-wide pressure into a threatening combat step.

Price Context
Current price
$0.06 bulk tier
At $0.06, Ambuscade Shaman is deep bulk — the kind of card you pull out of a bulk bin without thinking twice. That price reflects its narrow niche, not a hidden gem waiting to spike.
