Alaborn Zealot trades one-for-one with any attacking creature and takes itself with it — a white Lure stapled to a 1/1 body for two mana. Narrow enough that it only earns a slot when you specifically need a sacrifice outlet or a way to punish creature-heavy combat strategies.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Alaborn Zealot is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but sees essentially no competitive play in any of them. In Commander, the effect is too small-bore — spending a card to kill one attacker once is a poor rate when wraths and repeatable removal exist at similar costs. Legacy and Vintage have far more efficient interaction, and the Zealot's ceiling there is bulk filler. Oathbreaker offers the most charitable home, where lower starting life totals make trading bodies slightly more meaningful, but it still competes against better white options.

Price Context
Current price
$3.61 cheap tier
At $3.61, Alaborn Zealot is priced well above its playability — this is a collector-driven number, not a demand number. Don't expect the price to reflect utility; it's a niche old-frame card, and that's doing most of the work here.
