Abduction card art
Abduction steals a creature and hands you full control of it — until the enchantment leaves the battlefield, at which point the original owner gets it back and untaps it. That return clause is the cost, and it's real, but the Iridescent Drake loop sidesteps it entirely by bouncing Abduction before its host dies.

Commander is the correct home for Abduction — four-mana theft that permanently destabilizes a board state is worth a slot in blue control and theft-matters builds, and the multiplayer context means you can often swing the stolen creature into its original owner before Abduction ever leaves play. Legacy and Vintage are legal but uninterested; dedicated theft effects there either cost less or do more without the return clause. Abduction is a non-factor in Standard, Modern, Pioneer, and Pauper by legality or power-level irrelevance.

Price Context

Current price

$1.03 cheap tier

At $1.03, Abduction sits in budget territory — easy to acquire, no financial barrier to testing. It's a casual staple with a narrow enough role that demand is unlikely to move the price significantly in either direction.
