The cost is real — it does nothing without a flip-heavy engine behind it — but Brudiclad, Telchor Engineer and Hidetsugu and Kairi both generate enough flips to make this spell absurd by the late game.

Zndrsplt's Judgment is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but in practice it only sees meaningful play in Commander. Legacy and Vintage have no interest in a five-mana conditional removal spell when faster, unconditional answers exist. Commander is the natural home: multiplayer tables reward the explosive multi-copy ceiling, and flip-tribal commanders like Zndrsplt, Eye of Wisdom or Okaun, Eye of Chaos give the spell real teeth. In Oathbreaker it's technically usable but the singleton format's lower life totals and faster pace make the setup cost harder to justify.
