Zealots en-Dal puts a repeatable fog effect on the board — pay two white mana each turn to prevent all combat damage to you, which can lock aggressive decks out of their entire offense. The catch is the cumulative upkeep: the cost grows by one white pip every turn, so the clock is always ticking on how long you can sustain it.

In Commander, Zealots en-Dal occupies a niche pillow-fort role — it's a cheap threat deterrent that taxes combat-focused decks, though the cumulative upkeep means it's a temporary measure rather than a permanent answer. Legacy and Vintage have access to it on paper, but neither format has any incentive to run it: white has clean unconditional protection at lower cost, and the cumulative upkeep is a crippling liability in high-speed environments. Oathbreaker is the one fringe case where a white enchantment-heavy planeswalker shell might squeeze a turn or two of value from it, but even there better options exist. The card is essentially Commander-or-nothing, and within Commander it belongs only in dedicated pillow-fort lists willing to manage the upkeep math.

Price Context
Current price
$0.14 bulk tier
At $0.14, Zealots en-Dal is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard and shipping, not the effect. Demand is narrow enough that the price is unlikely to move unless a popular commander gives it a specific home, so buy it if you want the effect and forget about it as anything other than a throw-in.
