Yuan-Ti Malison puts a 3/3 body on the board that immediately threatens to trade up by making a creature unblockable until end of turn, stapling combat disruption to an attackable body. The cost is that both effects are stapled to a three-mana creature in a format where three mana buys you a lot — but in Sefris of the Hidden Ways decks specifically, the creature type and dungeon-venturing payoff make the slot defensible.

Sefris of the Hidden Ways
Sefris of the Hidden Ways triggers off creatures entering your graveyard, and Yuan-Ti Malison's unblockable mode gives Sefris a reliable way to push through lethal damage while also serving as a venture-chain enabler when it dies.
Format Analysis

| Format | Verdict |

Yuan-Ti Malison is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, though outside of Commander it sees essentially no competitive play. In Modern and Pioneer the card is simply outclassed — a 3/3 with a conditional unblockable ability doesn't compete in those card pools. Commander is the only format where Yuan-Ti Malison earns a real role, and even there it's narrowly scoped to dungeon-matters decks where the creature type and venture synergies justify the slot.

Pricing data for Yuan-Ti Malison isn't currently available, so check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for a live number. Given its narrow competitive footprint, it's almost certainly a bulk or near-bulk pick — likely under a dollar — which makes it an easy inclusion if the synergy fits.
