Yavimaya Iconoclast enters as a 4/3 trample for two mana whenever you control a land with a +1/+1 counter on it — a legitimately threatening body at a steep conditional cost. Outside of dedicated Yavimaya-synergy or counter-on-lands builds, that condition almost never comes online, which makes this a narrow card rather than a sleeper.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Yavimaya Iconoclast is legal in Commander, Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but its playability is tightly gated. In Commander it belongs only in decks that deliberately put counters on lands — Atraxa landfall builds, Yavimaya-themed counters decks, or commanders like Kodama of the East Tree that pair land drops with proliferate effects. In competitive formats like Legacy and Modern the condition is simply too unreliable to justify a two-mana slot over unconditional threats, and it sees no meaningful play there. Oathbreaker could theoretically support it if the planeswalker and signature spell are built around land counters, but that's a narrow enough shell that Yavimaya Iconoclast remains a Commander-only proposition in practice.

Price Context
Current price
$0.22 bulk tier
At $0.22, Yavimaya Iconoclast is firmly bulk — easy to pick up as a throw-in. Given how narrow the condition is, don't expect demand to push this card out of bulk territory anytime soon.
