Wurmcalling puts a Wurm token on the board the turn you cast it, scales with however much mana you have, and stays in your graveyard so you can buy it back and do it again. The cost is real — buyback on a green X spell adds up fast — but Baru, Wurmspeaker turns every token into a lord effect and Raggadragga, Goreguts Boss can untap enough creatures to fund the whole loop.

Commanders with the highest synergy

Baru, Wurmspeaker
Baru, Wurmspeaker is the natural home: every Wurm token Wurmcalling produces triggers Baru's anthem, and Baru's activated ability can generate mana that feeds right back into the next buyback cast.

Raggadragga, Goreguts Boss
Raggadragga, Goreguts Boss rewards creatures with mana abilities, and the Wurm tokens from Wurmcalling are exactly the kind of board presence Raggadragga wants to untap and attack behind — while the mana surplus Raggadragga generates makes buyback much less punishing.
Format Analysis

Commander is where Wurmcalling actually lives — the long game gives you enough turns to recur it, and green ramp shells can routinely fund X=6 or higher with buyback attached. In Legacy and Vintage it's legal but irrelevant; the formats move too fast for a six-plus-mana token generator with no immediate board impact beyond a single creature. Modern is the same story: efficient interaction makes a do-nothing sorcery a liability, and there are cleaner ways to flood the board. Wurmcalling is a Commander card, full stop.

Current price
$4.42 cheap tier
At $4.42, Wurmcalling sits at the low end of the mid-budget range — cheap enough to slot in without a second thought in any green Commander build that wants it. It's a niche card with a loyal home in Wurm-tribal and big-mana green shells, so the price is stable rather than speculative.
