In Commander, Word of Blasting occupies a narrow niche: it discourages early beatdown but does nothing against combat-free win conditions or go-wide token swings where individual power is low. Legacy and Vintage have access to it, but neither format runs it — the conditional trigger and the sorcery-speed-adjacent feel of waiting to be hit make it uncompetitive against the threats those formats actually present.
