Wizards of the _____ card art
Wizards of the _____ lets every player draw a card whenever a Wizard enters the battlefield under any player's control — a symmetrical engine that floods the table with cards for one mana. The catch is symmetry: in the wrong pod it's a gift to opponents, but in a dedicated Wizard tribal shell where you're the one flooding the board, the math tilts decisively in your favor.

standard
vintage banned
pauper banned
oathbreaker banned

Wizards of the _____ is banned in Legacy, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, and it's not hard to see why: one mana, no condition on the draw trigger, and Wizards are everywhere across those formats' best shells. Commander gives it a pass for four structural reasons — 40 life buys time to leverage symmetry, the singleton rule limits how consistently opponents can abuse it, the multiplayer table means the card advantage spreads thin rather than doubling up one opponent, and Wizard-heavy commanders can realistically out-draw the table when the triggers chain. It's still a risk in pods running Wizard-dense strategies on the other side of the table, but that's a metagame read, not a ban.

Price Context

Current price

$0.05 bulk tier

At $0.05, Wizards of the _____ is deep bulk — the cheapest possible entry point for a card that does real work in tribal. There's no pressure on that price to move given the narrow tribal scope, so grab copies without hesitation and don't expect either a spike or a further floor.
