Wings of Hubris card art
Wings of Hubris gives any creature flying and +1/+0 for one mana, then kills it as a bonus when the equipped creature dies — a built-in sacrifice outlet stapled to an evasion buff. It's a niche card that earns its slot only in decks that want creatures to die on demand; everywhere else, it's outclassed by equipment that doesn't destroy what it's attached to.

oathbreaker

In Commander, Wings of Hubris is a one-mana enabler for sacrifice-matters strategies — Aristocrats builds, death-trigger engines, or any commander that needs a creature to reach the red zone and then disappear cleanly. It sees essentially no play in Legacy, Modern, or Vintage, where the sacrifice rider is a liability rather than a feature and better one-mana equipment exists. Pauper is the one competitive format where budget sacrifice synergies are real, and Wings of Hubris is at least worth considering in common-legal Aristocrats shells. Oathbreaker mirrors Commander in its relevance: situational, but genuinely useful if the planeswalker at the helm cares about deaths.

Price Context

Current price

$0.15 bulk tier

At $0.15, Wings of Hubris is deep bulk — you're picking it out of a dollar bin, not tracking it down. That price is stable because demand is narrow; it won't spike unless a high-profile sacrifice commander drags it into the spotlight.
