Wind Sail cantrips while granting a creature flying until end of turn — functional, but the effect is too narrow and too temporary to justify a slot in most decks. Situational combat tricks with no lasting board impact rarely make the cut.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Wind Sail is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, Pauper, and Oathbreaker, but the formats where it sees any real consideration are limited to Pauper, where commons with cantrip riders get more scrutiny. In Commander, granting flying until end of turn doesn't move the needle — the format is too powerful and too multiplayer for one-shot evasion to matter. Legacy and Vintage have far better options at every point on the curve. Pauper is the most charitable context, and even there Wind Sail competes against cantrips that affect the board more durably.

Price Context
Current price
$0.16 bulk tier
At $0.16, Wind Sail is deep bulk — the price reflects the demand accurately. Don't expect it to appreciate; it solves a problem most decks don't have.
