Wind Dancer card art
Wind Dancer turns one creature per turn into a flier for a repeatable one-mana activation — relevant evasion on demand, not baked in. The body itself is a 1/1 for two mana, so Wind Dancer lives or dies by how much use you squeeze out of that ability before it gets answered.

Format Analysis

Where it lives, where it can’t

FormatVerdict

Wind Dancer is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, and irrelevant in all of them except Commander, where repeatable utility on a cheap body at least has a home in casual evasion-matters builds. In Legacy and Vintage, a fragile 1/1 with a slow, telegraphed activated ability simply does not compete with the pace of those formats. In Oathbreaker, the same logic applies — the format is fast enough that a two-mana do-nothing-immediately creature rarely justifies a slot. Commander is the only arena where Wind Dancer finds any traction, and even there it's a fringe role-player in decks that specifically care about granting flying repeatedly.

Price Context

Current price

$0.21 bulk tier

At $0.21, Wind Dancer is deep bulk — you're not buying this for value, you're buying it because the deck wants it. The price is stable at the floor and will stay there; this is a card you pick out of a bulk bin, not one you track.
