Will-Forged Golem is a Commander-specific card wearing the wrong clothes everywhere else — Pauper, Modern, Legacy, and Vintage all have better six-mana payoffs that don't require opponent cooperation to function. In Commander, the group-cast mechanic occasionally produces an 8/8 or 10/10 at no extra cost to you, which is genuinely large, but that ceiling requires three or four players to agree to spend mana on your creature in a turn-order vacuum — a coordination problem that rarely resolves favorably.
