Wildest Dreams returns X cards from your graveyard to your hand — the more mana you dump into it, the more you get back, making it one of the most scalable recursion spells in green. The cost is exactly what you'd expect: a sorcery-speed payoff that does nothing without a stocked graveyard and a pile of mana, which is why it slots naturally into decks helmed by Rosheen, Roaring Prophet.

Rosheen, Roaring Prophet
Rosheen, Roaring Prophet generates four mana toward X spells, which means Wildest Dreams routinely comes down returning four or more cards in one shot — the engine fuels the payoff directly, no setup required.

In Commander, Wildest Dreams is a late-game reset button: when the board has crumbled and your hand is empty, dumping eight or ten mana into it refills your hand and lets you reload through a single spell. Competitive formats are less forgiving — in Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer it's legal but rarely played, because paying X just to get cards back at sorcery speed is too slow when opponents are winning on turn three or four. Oathbreaker can support it in the same shell that Commander does, especially under a green planeswalker that generates excess mana. The bottom line is that Wildest Dreams is a Commander card: the longer games run and the more lands you have in play, the better it gets.
