Wilderness Elemental card art
Wilderness Elemental swings as a trampling beater whose power scales with the number of non-basic lands your opponents control — in a four-player Commander game, that number routinely hits 8–12 before turn five. The cost is negligible; the ceiling is not.

Commander is where Wilderness Elemental earns its slot: four-player tables full of greedy mana bases mean opponents collectively jam shocklands, fetchlands, and utility lands that do all the work of pumping its power for free. Outside Commander, the card is legal in Legacy, Vintage, and Modern, but those formats are either too fast for a three-mana creature that does nothing the turn it enters or too hostile to a body with no protection — it won't see serious play there. Stick to Commander, preferably in a Gruul or Temur shell that can give it haste or trample redundancy.

Price Context

Current price

$0.31 bulk tier

At $0.31, Wilderness Elemental is firmly bulk — easy to pick up without a second thought. Bulk creatures with narrow application rarely climb in price, so grab it for the slot and don't expect it to move.
