Wild Nacatl

Wild Nacatl is a Modern and Legacy staple in Zoo strategies precisely because hitting three basic land types by turn two is trivial in fetch-shock mana bases, turning it into the most efficient one-drop beatdown creature available at common rarity. In Pauper it's similarly dominant — the format has no access to fetch lands, but Naya aggro still runs it as a finisher that demands an answer. Commander is where Wild Nacatl falls off hardest: a 3/3 for one is unimpressive at a 100-card table where board states scale fast, and the three-color land condition is easy to meet but the payoff doesn't justify a slot when your deck isn't built around early aggression. Vintage can run it but rarely does — the format's speed makes one-mana 3/3s look small.
