Wight scales directly off your opponents' graveyards, becoming a legitimately large threat in multiplayer games where three tables worth of creatures inevitably hit the bin. Two mana for a creature that routinely hits 4/4 or bigger by mid-game is strong rate — the ceiling is high, the floor is a 1/1 that does nothing.

In Commander, Wight earns its slot in any black deck that wants cheap, incidentally large threats — three opponents filling graveyards means Wight grows without any investment beyond casting it. In Legacy and Vintage, the competition at two mana is brutal and Wight doesn't make the cut outside of fringe Zombie tribal builds. Modern and Pioneer are similar stories: graveyard payoffs exist, but Wight's passive growth is too slow and too dependent on opponents to compete with proactive threats at the same cost. Commander is the only format where this card is genuinely good.

Price Context
Current price
$0.23 bulk tier
At $0.23, Wight is deep bulk — you'll find copies in any common box or draft chaff pile without thinking twice. The price reflects limited competitive demand outside Commander, and there's no reason to expect it to climb.
