Whipcorder card art
Whipcorder taps a creature at instant speed for a single white mana, and its Morph lets it enter the battlefield face-down to ambush attackers or reset itself for another activation. The catch is the untap cost — W every turn — but in white creature-heavy builds, that upkeep is trivial next to the repeatable lock it provides. Yedora, Grave Gardener turns every face-down Whipcorder that dies into a free Forest, making the Morph clause pull double duty as ramp fodder.

Whipcorder is a Commander card through and through — the repeatable tap ability scales with the longer game length, and creature-heavy white strategies have the mana to keep it active turn after turn. In Legacy and Vintage it's technically legal but sees no play; the format speed makes a one-mana tap effect that requires additional upkeep investment uncompetitive. Oathbreaker is the one non-Commander 60-card format where Whipcorder could show up in a white aggro-control shell, though its impact there is modest. Stick to 100-card pods.
