Weirding Shaman card art
Weirding Shaman turns spare Goblins and mana into a continuous stream of 1/1 tokens, and Pitiless Plunderer makes that stream self-funding. The five-mana activation is steep in isolation, but in a dedicated Goblin shell the cost collapses fast.

Commander is where Weirding Shaman actually gets to work — Goblin tribal builds generate the fodder and the treasure both, and five mana is a rounding error by turn six in a deck engineered to snowball. In Legacy and Vintage, the Goblin synergy package exists but the slot competition is brutal and dedicated combo lines win faster than a token engine that costs five per activation. Modern's Goblin shells are similarly efficient but lean on lower curves, so Weirding Shaman rarely makes the cut outside of budget builds. Oathbreaker mirrors the Commander dynamic at a smaller scale and can work fine if the signature spell supports the gameplan.

Price Context

Current price

$0.58 bulk tier

At $0.58, Weirding Shaman is firmly bulk — the kind of card you pull from a box rather than buy. Demand is narrow enough that the price isn't going anywhere meaningful, so pick one up whenever, no urgency.
