Weight of Memory card art
Weight of Memory lands as a massive card-advantage swing — exile a card from your graveyard, draw that many cards, and your opponent draws that many too, all for four mana. The symmetry is the cost, and in most shells it barely matters because you're the one controlling when and how many cards get drawn.

The Emperor of Palamecia runs Weight of Memory as a core refuel spell — the Emperor cares about having spells in hand and casting them repeatedly, so a four-mana effect that can reload six or seven cards at once is exactly the kind of high-ceiling draw that keeps the engine running through a long game.

Weight of Memory is a Commander card through and through — the high ceiling on cards drawn is worth the four-mana investment when a single activation can refill your hand by five or more, and the symmetrical draw matters least in a format where you're trying to close out the game on your own terms. In Oathbreaker the same logic applies, though the faster clock tightens the window for getting full value. In Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer it's a fringe consideration at best — competitive blue decks have access to cheaper, asymmetric draw, and giving an opponent five cards in a two-player game is a much steeper tax than it is at a four-person table.

Pricing data for Weight of Memory isn't available in the current feed, so check Scryfall or your preferred retailer for the current market rate. Given its role as a high-variance draw spell with a narrow competitive home, it tends to move with demand from Commander players rather than from any other format.
