Weatherseed Totem gives you a 5/3 trample attacker on demand and returns itself to hand when it dies as a creature — the recursion is the point. Three mana to animate and six total to get on board is a real cost, but the self-replacement means removal rarely sticks.

In Commander, Weatherseed Totem occupies a narrow niche: green decks that want an indestructible artifact in the early turns and a late-game body that ignores chump blockers. The bounce-on-death clause is genuinely resilient in a format full of exile-light removal, but six mana total to get a 5/3 swinging is slow against tuned tables. Legacy and Vintage have zero interest — the rate doesn't come close to competing. Modern could theoretically support it in an artifact-matters shell, but better options exist at every point on the curve. Weatherseed Totem is a Commander card, and even there it earns a slot only in specific builds.

Price Context
Current price
$0.12 bulk tier
At $0.12, Weatherseed Totem is pure bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not demand. The self-recursion keeps it from being a total throw-in, but nothing about its Commander role pressures the price upward.
