Warmonger Hellkite card art
Warmonger Hellkite lands and immediately forces every creature on the board to attack, stripping opponents of their blockers and political options for the rest of the game. Six mana for a 6/5 flyer is fair rate, but the forced-attack anthem is the whole reason Firkraag, Cunning Instigator runs it — you're not paying for the body, you're paying for the engine.

Firkraag, Cunning Instigator triggers whenever a Dragon or opponent's creature attacks you, and Warmonger Hellkite guarantees opponents swing into you every turn — turning Firkraag's conditional draw and damage into a fully automatic engine rather than a political negotiation.

Warmonger Hellkite is a Commander card through and through — the forced-attack effect is most valuable in a multiplayer pod where it dismantles defensive board states across three opponents simultaneously. In Legacy and Vintage it's technically legal but competes with far more efficient threats and sees no real play. Commander is where the seven-word static ability does genuine work: tables built around blockers and defensive creatures have no clean answer short of removal, and opponents attacking each other while you profit is a meaningful strategic lever at any power level.

Price Context

Current price

$0.39 bulk tier

At $0.39, Warmonger Hellkite is deep bulk — you're picking this up out of a dollar bin or a cheap TCGPlayer order filler. Bulk rares with narrow competitive applications rarely climb, so don't expect the price to move; grab it for the effect, not the speculation.
