Warlord's Elite enters as a 3/3 with vigilance and lifelink for three mana — a stat line that clears the bar — but it only gets those keywords if you control a Soldier and a Warrior, which means it's a 1/1 for three if your board is empty. The two-creature-type dependency makes Warlord's Elite a role-player in dedicated tribal overlap builds, not a generalist.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Warlord's Elite is a Commander card through and through — the format's wider board states and tribal synergy support make it realistic to have both a Soldier and a Warrior in play. In Pauper it's legal but the conditional statline loses to commons that deliver keywords unconditionally. Modern, Pioneer, Legacy, and Vintage have no interest in a three-mana 1/1 with upside that requires two specific creature types on board. Oathbreaker mirrors Commander in that a tribal-focused planeswalker at the helm could unlock it, but the narrowness still limits its ceiling.

Price Context

$0.03 bulk tier
At $0.03, Warlord's Elite is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard and postage, not the card itself. Bulk commons and conditional uncommons at this price tier don't appreciate; pick it up if you need it and don't think twice about the cost.
