War-Name Aspirant enters as a 3/2 for two mana if you control a Warrior or have the raid trigger, and it shuts off the most common form of evasion — menace and the like are blanked by its built-in can't-be-blocked-by-one-creature-alone clause on opponents' creatures it attacks into. It's a solid curve-filler in aggressive Warrior tribal builds, and a near-blank outside of them.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
War-Name Aspirant is a Commander card first and almost exclusively — the tribal payoff only matters if you're building around Warriors, and Commander is the format that rewards that kind of synergy investment. In Modern and Pioneer it competes against far more efficient two-drops with no tribal restrictions, so it doesn't see play. Legacy and Vintage have the same problem at an even steeper power-level gap. In Commander, War-Name Aspirant earns its slot in Warrior-tribal decks specifically; outside that niche, there are better aggressive two-drops in every format it's legal in.

Price Context
Current price
$0.06 bulk tier
At $0.06, War-Name Aspirant is deep bulk — you're paying almost nothing for what is a genuinely playable tribal piece. Bulk rares and commons in this range don't hold or gain value, but that's irrelevant: you pick it up for the effect, not the price tag.
