Wanderwine Distracter is a 1/1 Merfolk for two mana that taps to make a creature unblockable — a narrow combat trick stapled to a fragile body. The effect is real but the rate is bad; you're paying two mana up front and a tap to push through one attacker, which rarely justifies a deck slot outside of dedicated tribal builds.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

Wanderwine Distracter is legal everywhere but rarely worth running anywhere. In Commander, it finds its only defensible home in Merfolk tribal decks where lords are pumping the board and evasion becomes a closing mechanism — even then, it competes with cheaper and more repeatable unblockable effects. In 60-card formats like Modern and Pioneer, a 1/1 for two that taps to grant unblockable is simply too slow and too fragile to see play when aggressive blue strategies have far more efficient options. Pauper is the one format where budget constraints might land it in a Merfolk shell, but even there better commons exist.

Price Context
Current price
$0.04 bulk tier
At $0.04, Wanderwine Distracter is deep bulk — you're not buying it so much as finding it in a trade binder. There's no meaningful price floor to speak of, and nothing about its power level suggests it climbs from here.
