Wall of Opposition card art
Wall of Opposition is a zero-toughness Defender that grows without a hard ceiling — pay one red mana to pump its power and toughness until end of turn, stacking activations as many times as you can afford. The cost is steep: it does nothing for free, demands a continuous mana sink every combat, and competes with red cards that just win the game outright.

Wall of Opposition is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, and irrelevant in all of them. In Commander, the only realistic home is a dedicated Walls or Defenders build where you're already running Arcades, the Strategist or Doran, the Siege Tower — commanders that care about toughness — but Wall of Opposition's zero base toughness makes it a liability in that exact archetype. Legacy and Vintage have access to every card ever printed, and a mana-hungry Wall that needs repeated investment to do anything doesn't survive contact with either format's tempo. It's legal on paper in Oathbreaker but faces the same structural problem: you're paying to make a wall relevant when that mana could just close the game.

Pricing data for Wall of Opposition isn't currently available, which likely reflects its minimal market demand. It's an older card with no competitive history and narrow casual appeal, so copies tend to sit in bulk bins — track it on Scryfall or TCGPlayer directly if you need a number before buying.
