Wall of Mourning puts a card from each opponent's library on the bottom every upkeep — free, repeating information denial that multiplies in value at a full four-player table. The catch is the 0/4 defender body does nothing offensively, so you're running this for the mill-adjacent effect, not the creature.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Wall of Mourning earns its slot: three opponents means three cards exiled to the bottom per rotation, which compounds into meaningful library disruption over a long game. In Legacy and Vintage it's technically legal but competes with every powerful blue and white card ever printed — no realistic shell wants a 0/4 that slowly reorders libraries. Oathbreaker is the only other format worth mentioning, and the two-player default makes the effect half as impactful as it is in a Commander pod.

Price Context
Current price
$0.25 bulk tier
At $0.25, Wall of Mourning is firmly bulk — you're not paying a premium to find out if it works. Don't expect that price to move; the effect is too narrow and the supply too wide for this to appreciate.
