Wall of Glare blocks any number of attackers indefinitely — on a 0/4 body for two mana, it stonewalls aggro and buys time in a way most cheap creatures can't. In Arcades, the Strategist decks it doubles as a 4-power attacker, which is where it earns its slot.
Best Commanders
Commanders with the highest synergy

Arcades, the Strategist
Arcades, the Strategist turns every Wall into an attacker, and Wall of Glare's 0/4 body hits for 4 while still performing its blocking role — it's one of the better dual-purpose pieces in the archetype.

Pramikon, Sky Rampart
Pramikon, Sky Rampart wants to control combat direction and survive long enough to matter; Wall of Glare's blanket blocking ability is exactly the kind of ground-level speed bump that keeps the table from running Pramikon over.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |

| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is where Wall of Glare sees virtually all its play, and the reason is straightforward — it either lives in an Arcades, the Strategist build as a free 4-power attacker or it sits in a defensive stax shell soaking up attacks from multiple creatures at once. In Legacy and Vintage, the competition at two mana is steep enough that Wall of Glare never makes the cut outside fringe Wall tribal lists. Pauper is technically legal, but aggressive decks there apply pressure in ways that a 0/4 blocker can slow without stopping, so it rarely appears. Outside of Commander, treat Wall of Glare as a niche piece rather than a format staple.

$0.44 bulk tier
At $0.44, Wall of Glare is bulk — you're paying almost nothing for a card that fills a real role in Arcades, the Strategist lists. Bulk commons and uncommons at this price point don't move much, so expect it to stay in this range indefinitely.
