Vraska's Scorn is a four-mana sorcery that destroys a creature or planeswalker and gives you a 1/1 deathtouch token — solid value, but the sorcery speed and four-mana floor are the tax you pay for the two-for-one. In most Commander lists, that rate is fine; in competitive pods where tempo is everything, you'll want an instant instead.

Commander is the natural home for Vraska's Scorn — four-mana removal is acceptable at a table where games go long, and the deathtouch token trades up against larger threats or chips in for commander damage. In Pioneer and Modern, sorcery-speed removal at four mana is too slow; Fatal Push, Assassin's Trophy, and Infernal Grasp all do more for less. Legacy and Vintage don't want it either — the format's pace makes the tempo loss prohibitive. Oathbreaker, like Commander, gives it the most room to breathe, especially in black shells that want incidental board presence alongside their answers.
