Vizier of Deferment flickers a nontoken creature until end of turn and replaces itself with a 1/1 — two meaningful effects stapled to a two-mana flash body. The cost is that the effect is temporary; anything you exile comes back at end of turn, so the value lives entirely in the moment you cast it.

Commander is where Vizier of Deferment earns its keep — flash timing lets you protect a creature from a board wipe, reset an enters-the-battlefield trigger at instant speed, or ambush an attacker and still leave a body behind. In fair creature-heavy shells, that combination of roles on one card at two mana is genuinely efficient. Outside Commander, it sees essentially no competitive play: Modern and Pioneer have faster, more permanent answers, and the temporary nature of the flicker means the effect rarely closes games or generates the card advantage those formats demand.

Price Context
Current price
$0.17 bulk tier
At $0.17, Vizier of Deferment is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not scarcity. There's no meaningful price upside here; it's the kind of card you pick out of a dollar box, not one you track.
