Vivid Revival returns up to three permanent cards from your graveyard to your hand for five mana — a single spell doing the work of three Raises. The cost is real: five mana at sorcery speed with a triple-green pip requirement keeps it out of most non-green shells, but in the right deck it's one of the most efficient mass-recursion spells in Commander.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Vivid Revival is a Commander card through and through — the three-target clause pays off in a 100-card singleton format where redundancy is scarce and getting back your best permanent at any point in a long game matters. In competitive pods the sorcery speed and five-mana price tag are real friction, but in midrange and battlecruiser tables it routinely swings games. Outside Commander, Vivid Revival is legal in Legacy, Modern, Pioneer, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but those formats move too fast for a five-mana do-nothing-to-the-board sorcery to see meaningful play. Stick to Commander.

Price Context
Current price
$0.17 bulk tier
At $0.17, Vivid Revival is deep bulk — buy a dozen copies without thinking about it. The price is unlikely to move unless a high-profile Commander precon or a breakout Standard-legal set pushes green recursion into the spotlight, so treat it as a cheap pickup rather than a spec.
