Visions of Dread puts three 2/2 black Zombie tokens onto the battlefield — that's six power spread across three bodies for four mana, which is a reasonable rate in token-focused black decks. The catch is the madness cost of three black, so you're only getting the discount if you have a discard outlet ready.

In Commander, Visions of Dread slots cleanly into Zombie tribal and madness-enabler shells where discard outlets are already part of the engine — pay three black via madness and you're ahead on rate for a token flood spell. Outside of those specific setups, four mana for three 2/2s is passable but not exciting against a table of three opponents. Legacy and Vintage have it legal but won't touch it; the formats are too fast and too tuned for a sorcery-speed token producer with no immediate board impact beyond bodies. Visions of Dread is a Commander card, full stop.

Price Context
Current price
$0.31 bulk tier
At $0.31, Visions of Dread is bulk — easy to pick up as a throw-in or from a commons bin. Bulk rares in narrow tribal niches rarely move unless the tribe spikes in popularity, so expect it to stay in this range.
