Virtus's Maneuver wipes out every creature with power 2 or less on two opponents' boards while you get to pull one of those creatures back to your side — a one-sided asymmetric board control spell that generates a body. Four mana for that kind of board impact is efficient, but the effect is live only when your opponents are running small creatures worth stealing.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Commander is the only format where Virtus's Maneuver earns a real roster slot. The three-player targeting clause is purpose-built for multiplayer — you sculpt two boards while leaving your own creatures untouched, and the reanimation clause means you're converting removal into incremental card advantage. Legacy and Vintage are legal but irrelevant; neither format gives you opponents with enough small creatures in play to justify a four-mana sorcery with no impact on fast combo or efficient threats above power 2. Oathbreaker is legal and mirrors the Commander logic at a smaller table, though the value shrinks with only one opponent to target.

Price Context
Current price
$0.81 bulk tier
At $0.81, Virtus's Maneuver sits at the top edge of bulk pricing — cheap enough to slot in without budget friction. It won't spike unless a high-profile Commander deck popularizes it, so picking it up now or later barely matters.
