Vindictive Mob hits the board as a 5/5 trampler that permanently bars your opponents from playing a chosen nonland card name — a unique and oppressive static effect stapled to a sizeable body. The cost is real: six mana and a Goblin sacrifice on entry, so it needs a Goblin-dense shell to pay off.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Vindictive Mob earns its slot exclusively in Goblin tribal decks — the sacrifice requirement is too steep to ignore, but the naming effect can surgically excise a combo piece or staple that would otherwise end the game. In Legacy and Vintage, six mana is simply too slow for those formats' interactive density, and better hate pieces exist at lower costs. Modern is technically legal but practically the same story: the rate doesn't compete when targeted disruption is available on turns one and two. Vindictive Mob is a Commander card through and through, and even there it's a role-player rather than a staple.

Price Context
Current price
$0.09 bulk tier
At $0.09, Vindictive Mob is deep bulk — it costs almost nothing to acquire and that price reflects its narrow demand. Don't expect movement; it's a pick-up-one-copy-and-forget card for any Goblin player who wants the naming effect.
