Viashino Cutthroat is a 3/4 haste creature for four mana that returns itself to your hand at end of turn — you get a threat that swings the turn it enters, then vanishes before blockers or removal can strand it on the battlefield. The catch is that rebound clause: unless you're building around enter-the-battlefield triggers or sacrifice synergies, you're paying four mana every turn to rent a body rather than own one.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Viashino Cutthroat is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but sees essentially no play in any of them. In Commander, the appeal is narrow — haste and a self-bouncing body matter in Sneak Attack shells, Threaten-loop strategies, or decks that abuse ETB triggers repeatedly, but four mana for a 3/4 that leaves at end of turn is a steep rate when alternatives like Dockside Extortionist do far more for the same cost. Legacy and Vintage have no interest in this effect at this price. Oathbreaker could theoretically exploit the bounce loop with the right spellshot commander, but better redundancy exists.

$0.17 bulk tier
At $0.17, Viashino Cutthroat is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not demand. It won't appreciate; the niche it fills is too narrow and the competition too strong for any reprinting or spike to move the needle.
