Vantress Paladin enters with a ward-like foretell discount and grows your foretold spells — a genuinely useful body in spell-heavy blue decks that want to go wide with foretell synergies. The cost is a two-mana 2/1 that does nothing without a foretell gameplan to support it.

Vantress Paladin is a Commander card in the strictest sense — it needs a critical mass of foretell spells to do anything, and that density is easiest to engineer in a 99-card singleton build around a foretell-matters commander. In Pauper it's legal but foretell synergies are too sparse and too slow to make the cut. Modern, Pioneer, and Legacy have no interest in a 2/1 for two with a conditional payoff when faster and broader threats are available at the same cost. Vintage ignores it entirely.

Price Context
Current price
$0.09 bulk tier
At $0.09, Vantress Paladin is deep bulk — the kind of card you pull from a bulk box rather than order. It won't hold or gain value, but that's irrelevant: if it fits your foretell build, the cost of entry is essentially zero.
