Urza's Avenger
Artifact Creature — Shapeshifter
: This creature gets -1/-1 and gains your choice of banding, flying, first strike, or trample until end of turn. (Any creatures with banding, and up to one without, can attack in a band. Bands are blocked as a group. If any creatures with banding you control are blocking or being blocked by a creature, you divide that creature's combat damage, not its controller, among any of the creatures it's being blocked by or is blocking.)

Urza's Avenger is a 4/4 flier for six mana that can pump any combination of its four abilities — flying, banding, first strike, and trample — by paying 0 and shrinking its own power and toughness until end of turn, which is the engine that makes Crackdown Construct go infinite. Outside that specific interaction, a vanilla-ish six-drop that self-debuffs is too slow and clunky for most tables.

Urza's Avenger is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but its competitive homes are essentially nonexistent outside Commander. In Legacy and Vintage the card is too slow and too fair — six mana for a 4/4 with conditional keywords doesn't compete with those formats' power level, and the Crackdown Construct combo requires a second piece on the battlefield. Commander is where Urza's Avenger actually lives, slotting into decks that either want infinite activated abilities or specifically assemble the Crackdown Construct line for a game-ending attack.

Pricing data for Urza's Avenger isn't currently available in our system, so check Scryfall or TCGPlayer for a live number. As a relatively obscure combo piece with a narrow application, it tends to sit in bulk-to-low-dollar range — worth picking up if you're building the Crackdown Construct line, but not a card that commands a premium.
