Unnatural Speed gives a creature haste and trample until end of turn for one red mana — full stop. It's a functional combat trick in aggressive creature decks, but a one-mana sorcery that replaces itself with nothing is a tough sell anywhere tutors and value spells compete for the same slot.

In Commander, Unnatural Speed is fringe playable in go-wide or combat-focused decks that need a cheap haste enabler to close a game the turn a threat lands — think Krenko, Mob Boss or Etali, Primal Storm, where attacking immediately is the whole point. Outside of those specific setups, a sorcery that draws no cards and leaves no permanent is hard to justify over enchantments like Fires of Yavimaya or creatures that grant haste passively. In Pauper, the common restriction keeps the card on the table as a budget option in red aggro shells, though Lightning Mauler and similar cards typically do more. Legacy and Vintage have no interest — one-mana cantrip spells exist, and this isn't one.

Price Context
Current price
$0.12 bulk tier
At $0.12, Unnatural Speed is deep bulk — the kind of card that rounds out a trade binder rather than a purchase. That price won't move; supply is high and demand is narrow, so there's no reason to think twice about picking one up if you actually want it.
