Unbreakable Bond card art
Unbreakable Bond returns a creature from your graveyard to the battlefield with a +1/+1 counter and lifelink attached — relevant stats, not just a body — for five mana at sorcery speed. It's a solid reanimation spell in grindy white decks, but Scholar of the Ages already costs five and comes back on its own; Bond needs to clear a higher bar than that to earn a slot.

Format Analysis

oathbreaker

Unbreakable Bond lives and dies in Commander, where five-mana sorceries have room to breathe and reanimating a single high-value creature can swing a game. The lifelink counter is a nice bonus in slower pods, and white's limited graveyard recursion makes any unconditional reanimate worth considering. Outside of Commander, it can't compete — Modern and Legacy have Unearth, Persist, and Reanimate doing more for less, and Pioneer's reanimator shells prefer cheaper or more explosive options.

Price Context

Current price

$0.24 bulk tier

At $0.24, Unbreakable Bond is pure bulk — easy to pick up as a budget slot-filler. Bulk reanimate spells without eternal-format demand rarely move off the floor, so this price is the ceiling as much as the floor.
