In Commander, Trumpet Blast earns its slot in token decks that need one last push — Krenko, Mob Boss and Rhys the Redeemed lists can end the game with it when attackers number in the double digits. Outside Commander, the effect is too narrow for most competitive formats: Modern and Pioneer have faster, more flexible pump spells that also grow the creature permanently or work outside combat. Pauper is the one exception where Trumpet Blast sees occasional play in red-based swarm strategies, because the instant-speed timing genuinely matters at that power level. Legacy and Vintage simply don't need it.
