Trick Shot returns all creatures with flying to their owners' hands — a one-sided board reset that punishes air-heavy tables while leaving your ground game untouched. At three mana, the rate is efficient enough to run in any white deck that doesn't itself rely on flyers.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|

| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | legal |
| standard | legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Trick Shot earns its slot against the format's most dangerous threats — Consecrated Sphinx, Blightsteel Colossus, and virtually every Dragon or Angel tribal build fold to it instantly, and the three-mana cost means you can hold up interaction without breaking your curve. In 60-card formats — Modern, Pioneer, Legacy — flyers matter but targeted bounce and hard removal do the same job with less setup, so Trick Shot rarely outcompetes established options. Pauper is the one competitive environment where mass bounce to hand is a real archetype, but the effect there wants to hit everything, not just flyers. In Standard it reads as a sideboard option against aggressive flyer strategies, conditional on the metagame actually featuring them.

$0.07 bulk tier
At $0.07, Trick Shot is deep bulk — grab a copy from any commons box without a second thought. At that price floor there's no meaningful upside to hold; it's a role-player you buy when you need it and don't think about otherwise.
