Tribal Golem enters as a 3/3 for six mana and grows its power suite — trample, flying, first strike, haste, vigilance — only by counting creature types among your other permanents, which means it's dead weight in most shells. In dedicated Golem tribal or heavy-artifact builds where those subtypes stack up, the payoff is real; everywhere else, it's a six-mana vanilla.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | not legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | not legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Tribal Golem is legal in Commander, Legacy, Vintage, and Oathbreaker, but competitive Legacy and Vintage have no interest in a six-mana creature with conditional abilities. Commander is the only realistic home, and even there Tribal Golem demands a specific tribal-overlap build — something like a Golem or artifact-creature deck that also happens to run Warriors, Soldiers, or Beasts — to unlock more than one or two keywords. In Oathbreaker the smaller deck size makes assembling that subtype diversity harder, not easier.

Price Context
Current price
$0.21 bulk tier
At $0.21, Tribal Golem is deep bulk — you're not paying a premium for power, you're paying nearly nothing for a niche role-player. It won't hold or appreciate in value; grab a copy if the tribal puzzle appeals, and don't expect the price to move.
