Toxic Iguanar
Creature — Lizard
This creature has deathtouch as long as you control a green permanent. (Any amount of damage a creature with deathtouch deals to a creature is enough to destroy it.)

Toxic Iguanar taxes every source of damage in the game with a poison counter, turning incidental combat and burn into a parallel clock that opponents have to respect. One mana for that effect is the entire argument — this card costs nothing and asks opponents to answer it or start dying twice.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t
| Format | Verdict |
|---|---|
| commander | legal |
| legacy | legal |
| modern | legal |
| pioneer | not legal |
| standard | not legal |
| vintage | legal |
| pauper | legal |
| oathbreaker | legal |
Toxic Iguanar sees essentially no play in Legacy, Modern, or Vintage — infect decks in those formats want to close the poison game fast, and a 1/1 body with no evasion doesn't support that gameplan. Pauper is its best non-Commander home, where cheap bodies with persistent effects can grind, though even there dedicated infect builds prefer creatures that deal poison directly rather than taxing other damage sources. In Commander, Toxic Iguanar finds its clearest role in Atraxa-style proliferate shells or dedicated infect strategies where the incidental poison triggers off combat damage, spells, and opponent interactions compound quickly across a four-player table.

Price Context
Current price
$0.09 bulk tier
At $0.09, Toxic Iguanar is deep bulk — the kind of card you pull from a commons box rather than buy. It holds no monetary value and won't appreciate, but at that price the only question is whether it earns a deck slot, not whether it's affordable.
