Timely Interference taps a target creature and replaces itself — instant-speed interaction that costs you nothing in cards. At one mana, it's a clean tempo play, not a permanent answer, so you run it to buy a turn, not to solve a problem.
Format Analysis
Where it lives, where it can’t

| oathbreaker | legal |
In Commander, Timely Interference is a role-player in spellslinger and prowess-style decks that want cheap cantrips — the loot or draw effect means it doesn't cost you card equity while buying a combat step. In Pauper, where tempo spells and cantrips are a real axis of competition, it can find a home in tempo-blue shells alongside other one-mana interaction. Modern and Legacy have more efficient options for both tapping effects and cantrips, so Timely Interference rarely makes those 60-card lists. Oathbreaker follows the same logic as Commander: it's fine if your gameplan rewards cheap spell volume.

Price Context
Current price
$0.12 bulk tier
At $0.12, Timely Interference is deep bulk — you're paying for cardboard, not scarcity. That price is stable because demand is low and supply is high; don't expect movement in either direction.
